J.K. Hage III, Esq. is the son of founding attorney James J. Hage. As a practicing attorney, he is the managing member of Hage & Hage LLC and is of counsel to Lukas, Nace, Gutierrez & Sachs, a Washington, D.C. communications law and engineering firm. As a business developer, J.K. has achieved great success in various business ventures. He founded Independent Wireless One Corporation (aka U.S. Unwired), a national Sprint PCS affiliate, and was the organizer and the first Executive Director of the Griffiss Institute, a market-driven national collaboration of industry, the academy and government dedicated to applied research, training and services in information security. Mr. Hage also is an entrepreneurial activist investor and has extensive personal experience on public, private, profit and nonprofit boards and management teams.

Michael Johnson is a lifelong resident of Utica, New York, who joined our firm in October 2014. Mike practices in the areas of corporate law, employment law, real property law, and trusts and estates law. Mike also has experience in criminal and municipal law. Prior to joining Hage & Hage, Mike volunteered his service to Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. and the Syracuse University College of Law Criminal Defense Clinic.

Amy Porter Ossont is our managing paraprofessional and has been with Hage & Hage LLC for more than 25 years. She currently serves as the firm's Practice Manager and Regulatory/Sustainability Paraprofessional and is an integral member of the Hage & Hage LLC Business Consulting Team. Her expertise includes technology, telecommunications and energy law, sustainable development, corporate governance, and strategic business and regulatory analysis. As the firm’s Sustainability Paraprofessional, Amy has participated in green building, LEED-certification and environmental land use projects. She is a frequent lecturer on green living and sustainable design. She also assisted with the design, construction and certification stages of Hage & Hage LLC’s own building project, which is the region’s first privately owned LEED Gold-certified green office building. As the firm's Regulatory Paraprofessional, Amy has spent years assisting telecommunications carriers and VoIP providers on issues related to state certifications, tariffs, consumer complaints, carrier-to-carrier issues, taxes and regulatory fees, and state and federal agency reporting requirements, particularly those relating to Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI), Federal Universal Service Fund (USF), Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) and Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA). Amy also has experience in various types of energy projects, including municipal electric, hydro-electric, geothermal, wind, passive and photovoltaic solar and landfill-gas-to-energy.
With more than 15 years in public accounting, Jennifer A. Gilbert, CPA has experience in all aspects of corporate, partnership, limited liability company, sole proprietorship, not-for-profit, estate, trust and personal finance issues. She has worked with clients to prepare financial statements and tax returns, audit and review prepared financial statements, form and dissolve companies, install and maintain accounting system software and training programs and act as a liaison between clients and the IRS, various state tax departments and other regulatory agencies. Jennifer also serves as Treasurer of the Utica Job Service Employer Committee (JSEC), which provides expert information to employers on issues that affect the business community, under the auspices of the Department of Labor. Jennifer is a member of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program.
